Who We Are

Sprague Farm is a family-owned and operated local business on Block Island, and has been for many generations. Positioned on the west side of the Island, the majority of the 40 plus
acres of farmland is used as pasture for livestock, or hay fields. Our organically grown veggies are grown on a small plot of just about an acre.

Why Eat Organic ?

All organic produce is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. These can be harmful, not only to your health, but our environment as well.

When growing our vegetables we follow the guidelines of organic and regenerative practices.

We Have a CSA!


We are now accepting applications for our 2021 CSA FARM SHARES – up to 23 weeks from June through November. Choose the plan that’s best for you!

Biodiverse Farm

Our methods are of minimal environmental impact. We have developed systems that are not only sustainable also regenerative. We practice low-till and cover-cropping to help prevent erosion and keep soil structure strong. We use crop rotation and row covers to naturally deter pests, and plant flowers to attract beneficial insects and natural pollinators. We also grow a variety of different crops and varieties which mimics a natural, healthy, balanced ecosystem… All while keeping things interesting on your plate!

How Our CSA Shares Work

Every week in season CSA members receive a delicious, well-balanced assortment of the farm-fresh items we harvest that week. We harvest most of our produce the morning of delivery and subscribers can expect a great deal of variety from week to week.


Here’s How It Works


We Get Hitched 🙂

No, we’re not proposing marriage. But by signing up for the Sprague Farm CSA, you commit to support our farm through our growing season, and we commit to using your payment to grow, nurture and harvest a nutrient-dense crop for you.


We Get Growing

Starting early June, we begin harvesting, washing, and packing the nutrient-dense vegetables that your family needs for optimal health. We harvest most produce the morning of delivery. Expect a great deal of variety from week to week. 


You Pick Up

We’ve done the growing. Now we’ll box up your fresh, well-balanced assortment of the various items that we harvest that week. After we harvest, wash, and package your share, you simply visit us on the farm and pick-up each Wednesday 😀


Time to Get Cooking!

This is the exciting part! You’ll find lots of your favorite veggies in our box, only there way tastier and more nutritious than what you’re used to. You’ll even learn how to prepare some new food items. But don’t worry, we’ve got recipes to help you out.
